God + Religion?

God is in every subtle detail of your experience. We don't usually see this in western countries though because we turn God into a "being", separate from us, who's calling the shots from his throne up in heaven. I think in the East they have a better idea about the divinity that supports the material world. To them it is an energy, not a being. The different religions call it by different names- the Tao or Brahman, for example. I call it All-that-which-is. There is nothing beyond it; everything is contained within it. This then makes every experience, no matter how minor, an experience of the divine, an experience of God. It only becomes "religion" when you consciously acknowledge it as an experience of God. But you can have a "state of grace" or "be in the Tao" without consciously thinking about the experience as being an experience of God.
