Will mba programs frown upon my previous profession?

I wouldn't say they would frown upon it. That's an honest profession. However, depending on the selectivity of the school, it might not be quite enough to get you in. They might weigh more heavily your previous education and G.R.E. scores if the job experience itself doesn't quite cut it.
