If religion is to teach us to love eachother, why are the religious much more prone to doing harm?

you said that you'll never hear of an atheist dragging anyone from a pickup truck, but they are trying to take God's name off the dollar bill and prevent stores from playing Christmas music and such. those who take religion far enough to kill people are wrong, but don't go off accusing religious people when atheists are trying to change the american way.
