Looking to move to brighton from bristol asap. need to rent a CHEAP place! where do i start?!!!!?

i'm a 26 year old gay male - been in bristol for years and like it here, but feel it's time to move on asap, especially as the house i'm in at the mo seems like it's falling apart. i'm aware that brighton is pretty damn expensive but REALLY want to live there, despite my finances not being in the greatest shape. any advice of any sort much appreciated. thanks!
