Are all of the fights, quarrels and comments in Americas' Next Top model made up by the program?

all reality shows don't make up the fights but they do encourage them, they give alcohol freely to the contestants, they question the contestants and manipulate them into a quarrel or fight. also most contestants that go on these reality shows want their 15 minutes of fame and they know and the producers know that fighting and arguing makes the ratings go up. viewing will think its exciting enough to stay tuned. but I think there is a rule that they are not allowed to actually hit one another with their fist. at least on one reality show that was the rule. they can throw things and yell but they can't use their hands and feet to cause bodily harm to someone else.
