How do I get to my "video card settings" on my windows xp?

I just downloaded Sims 3 onto my crappy computer and now that I've succeeded in enticing my temperamental ROM drive to work for me, an error message pops up and reads "unable to start game device 0 cannot run this title. Your video card must be set to application-controlled antialiasing. Please check your video card settings." Please help me! I've been waiting to play this game for so long!
